Development
Development
Development is the process of growth, learning, and enhancement related to the values, perspectives, skills, and capacities needed for staff to perform their jobs at or above the articulated expectations of their positions. Staff who participate in development programs will make progress toward:
- Identifying new skills and capacities as well as opportunities to enhance said skills and capacities in order to achieve excellence in their work.
- Articulating a clear connection between their work and the SDSU Principles of Community.
- Creating and/or adding to a professional development action plan.
- Meeting or exceeding all aspects of the evaluation criteria as their positions.
Development Programs
- An eight-module, cohort-based learning community for managers and staff who aspire to managerial roles to develop their own perspectives on supervision, build skills to supervise effectively, connect to a community of support, and implement an action plan for future growth.
- Offered each spring to all staff.
- Opportunities to build skills, find resources, and build relationships.
- Planning committee work is an opportunity for staff to develop their own planning skills and to apply their knowledge of campus resources for the benefit of the campus community.
- To be facilitated by the Staff Development Manager and Staff Fellows with support from the CIE Team/OFSD.
