Leadership
Leadership
Leadership is the capacity each individual has to create positive change in the world around them. Leadership is distinct from management or authority in that it can be exercised by anyone from anywhere in the organizational hierarchy rather than being innately tied to certain positions or roles. Staff who participate in Leadership programs will make progress toward:
- Articulating a definition of leadership that is consistent with their personal and professional values as well as the SDSU Principles of Community.
- Developing the skills and capacities necessary to practice leadership on and off campus.
- Identifying opportunities to make positive change in their campus and San Diego communities.
Leadership Programs
- An opportunity for staff whose career goals include public speaking, presentations, training facilitation, and teaching to deliver CIE workshops and other staff development opportunities with The Staff Development Manager and other CIE Staff.
- The Fellows program also creates opportunities for mentoring and community building among staff across departments and divisions.
